Who are my lessons for?

  • Beginners : Individuals with little to no prior experience in music.

  • Intermediate Players : Those who feel stuck and are seeking ways to improve their skills.

  • Advanced Players : Musicians aiming to bridge gaps in their playing and elevate their technique to a professional level.

  • Anyone in Between : Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your abilities, there’s a place for you in my lessons. (Different instrumentalists and vocalists are also welcome to learn about musicality from me.)

Does age matter?

Not at All. I’ve learned a lot about the challenges different age groups face in my teaching experiences and my take on it is very straightforward:
if you’ve got the passion for it, I’m here to help you overcome each challenge.

What’s the difference between me and every other teacher?

  • I tailor my teaching pace to your needs, ensuring you grasp the underlying concepts before progressing to new topics.

  • I set realistic and sustainable goals for each lesson, avoiding overpromising and clickbait language.

  • I prioritize the principle of "teaching a person to fish" over "giving a person a fish," empowering you to teach yourself.

  • I encourage students to explore and think outside the box during their learning process, fostering a deeper understanding and reasoning in the music they play.

  • I share genuine professional insights drawn from my own experiences and those of the people I've worked with.

What do I need to prepare for the online lessons?

A lesson can still be conducted using a phone or laptop with built-in devices (microphone, camera, and speakers). However, the overall quality may not be as favourable as with students who have a more advanced setup. Built-in devices often struggle to capture audio and video effectively compared to dedicated equipment, such as external microphones, audio interfaces, and webcams. Therefore, a better setup typically leads to an improved learning experience.

Here are two setup examples you can prepare for an online lesson with me.

For more information on creating an optimal setup (recommended advanced setup), please refer to my setup instructions below.

Is it possible to have an in-person lesson instead?

Yes. However, in-person lessons are only available for people residing in Melbourne, Australia.

Interested participants can contact me below to arrange an in-person lesson.

How can an online lesson compare to an in-person lesson?

As I recognise the limitations of online lessons, I strive to make them as impactful as in-person lessons by including:

  • A dynamic lesson plan

  • Customized practice plans and exercises

  • A recorded video of the online lesson (available by request before the lesson)

  • Recorded instructions on how to practice the exercises after the lesson (available by request after the lesson)

  • Video(s) submitted at your convenience, with feedback provided within the week
